Customs Analyst

International Trade Compliance Specialist

This role ensures compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations. Involves classifying goods, managing import / export documentation and reports, monitoring tariff updates, and advising internal teams on customs-related requirements to optimize costs and avoid penalties.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and update company procedures to align with changes in customs requirements and government regulations.
• Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to customs activities.
• Determine accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Schedule B codes for products.
• Establish correct customs values, country of origin, and preferential duty eligibility.
• Maintain and update internal classification databases and product master data.
• Prepare, review, and validate import / export reports and documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, permits, and licenses.
• Ensure all records comply with statutory requirements for retention and audit readiness.
• Monitor and report duty spending and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
