Position Summary
The Dental Front Office Registrar plays a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the dental front office. This position is responsible for greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, assisting with payment plans, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Dental Front Office Registrar works in partnership with the Billing Administrator Assistant to ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and compliance with organizational policies.
Description
This role also supports the dental clinical team by coordinating communication, managing appointment reminders, and facilitating patient inquiries. The Dental Front Office Registrar promotes a professional, organized, and patient-centered environment that aligns with Park West Health System's mission and vision.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the daily operations and workflow of the dental front office.
- Greet and welcome patients to the dental practice.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, including follow-up visits.
- Assist patients in completing demographic and intake forms.
- Prepare and distribute daily schedules for dental staff.
- Update and maintain accurate patient demographic information; scan necessary documents into the patient management system.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and determine financial responsibility at the time of service.
- Collect payments and issue receipts as needed.
- Coordinate daily batching of encounters, cash sheets, and patient sign-in sheets for submission to the Billing Department.
- Serve as a patient advocate by addressing and resolving registration concerns.
- Provide patients with information about insurance programs offered by the State of Maryland.
- Perform general office duties, including answering telephones, photocopying, filing, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements, infection control protocols, and organizational policies.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with patients, staff, and management.
- Contribute to a professional and ethical work environment and actively participate in team meetings.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.Training and Experience
Preferably 5 years of experience in a medical front office setting, with at least 2 years in a dental front office environment.Experience in customer service, patient relations, or similar roles with proven ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.Skills
