FedScoop seeks an experienced reporter to cover the intersection of the federal government and the technology industry from Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Lead coverage of government technology and generate fresh story ideas.
- Write short hits and in‑depth investigative features for a daily newsletter to 100,000+ subscribers.
- Contribute to long‑term special editorial projects that impact the tech community governmentwide.
- Aid in the production of multimedia content such as podcasts and social media explainers.
- Represent the FedScoop brand at events and panel moderations.
Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of professional journalism as a reporter or editor.Familiarity with technology and the federal government, especially civilian and Cabinet‑level agencies.Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or a related field.Strong communications, organization, SEO, AP Style and social media skills.Experience with multimedia tools, CMS and programming to create polished final products.Salary Range
$60K - $90K (competitive and based on qualifications).
