Our customer, a global manufacturer of advanced medical devices is seeking a Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering (Sustaining / Product Engineering) who will build and lead the new Electrical Engineering functions at this location. This role will support in-market surgical products through complex, design-driven improvements, end-of-life (EOL) component changes, and manufacturing sustainment initiatives.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership position requiring a rare blend of technical depth and people management skills. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in complex electronic system design, a strong command of PCB and FPGA technologies, and proven success developing teams within a fast-paced, regulated product environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

- Establish a strong technical and collaborative culture aligned with global standards.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development support for engineers.
- Product Sustaining & Engineering Ownership
- Lead sustaining engineering efforts for existing surgical systems, including redesigns for EOL or obsolescence-driven changes.
- Oversee verification and validation (V&V) for all electrical design modifications, ensuring compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements.
- Partner with manufacturing and quality to troubleshoot production issues and drive corrective actions.
- Own documentation and traceability through the Design History File (DHF), including design input / output, risk analysis, and ECO approvals.
Technical Leadership
Act as on-site technical authority for complex electronic designs across digital, analog / power, and FPGA systems.Review and approve PCB designs (typically 6+ layers; 10+ layers preferred) for signal integrity, power design, EMC compliance, and manufacturability.Provide architectural guidance and system-level integration input for multi-disciplinary product improvements.Lead or support root cause analysis, testing, and validation activities for field or production issues.Cross-Functional Collaboration
