The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Key Account Manager, you will drive Food Service efforts in 3M Facilities Care Solutions (FCS) to profitably grow with major national brands such as Burger King, In-And-Out Burger and other Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) by working closely with your teammates (Commercial Leadership, Marketing Professionals, Inside Sales Professionals, Outside Sales Professionals, and 3M Brokers) to target, and develop new value-added customer opportunities. This role may also include responsibility for an assigned group of 3M Food Brokers that represent 3M on a contract basis to the broader food service market.

As a Food Service KAM, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Leading change initiatives to achieve 3M Food Service strategic objectives in the QSR segment.
  • Identifying, developing, and converting growth opportunities to increase market shareindependently and in partnership with distribution.
  • Proactively presenting tailored solutions to Top 200 QSR chains and priority prospects.
  • Owning pipeline development and management with clear targets, stages, and conversion plans.
  • Delivering customer development plans; providing best-in-class service; managing contract pricing and compliance.
  • Conducting account planning, including customer insight gathering, price intelligence, and demand forecasting.
  • Building and sustaining executive-level relationships across procurement, marketing, EHS, and product development.
  • Communicating prioritized initiatives and progress to assigned accounts on a regular cadence.
  • Partnering cross-functionally to align and secure resources for high-potential opportunities.
  • Championing New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through commercialization.
  • Coordinating and facilitating end-user training to drive adoption and value realization.
  • Aligning with buying groups and overseeing purchasing contract activities.
  • Representing 3M at industry events and trade shows, as needed.
  • Potentially directing an assigned network of 3M Food Service brokers to ensure brand-consistent representation and performance.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of 3M Food Services market presence and go-to-market model.

Company Vehicle

This position may require driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven (7) years of Marketing, and / or Sales in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Drivers License
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • 5+ years of end-user key account management with measurable growth and retention results.
  • Proven experience consulting with senior executives within customer accounts on strategy, solutions, and value realization.
  • Direct experience in the QSR segment; familiarity with QSR operations, procurement, and franchise dynamics.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating and managing complex contracts (pricing, rebates, SLAs / MSAs, compliance).
  • Demonstrated excellence in trade show planning, engagement, and lead conversion.
  • Track record of leading or managing relationships with key channel partners (distributors, brokers, buying groups).
  • Strong analytical skills; able to influence through insights and build long-term account plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment; resilient, self-directed, and execution-focused.
  • Work location : St. Paul, MN Based
