Overview

Software Support Specialist / Technical Writer at ACISS Systems. We pride ourselves on providing an unparalleled customer experience by building quality software for law enforcement organizations. Our staff solve real-world problems for criminal investigators and officers in the field by leveraging creativity, problem solving, and technical skills. We offer a casual work environment that fosters creativity and collaboration with your team. This is a remote position, however we are seeking candidates who are Florida residents that would be willing to travel to the Tampa Bay area periodically for face-to-face meetings and company events.

3+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation in the IT / software space.
All candidates MUST have the ability to pass ongoing fingerprint-based criminal background checks with no felony arrests or convictions.

Responsibilities

Establishing a thorough understanding of our software products in order to author various forms of documentation.

Drafting, editing, and reviewing a variety of documents including user manuals, technical specifications, training materials, and online help documentation.

Authoring detailed documentation of defects and feature requests reported by our customers.

Development and maintenance of training materials.

Providing high quality feedback to our development team throughout the development / QA testing lifecycle.

Solving a wide range of technical problems, and using your creativity to help continuously improve our documentation and processes.

Ideal candidates

Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written (spelling, grammar, typing).

Experience or comfort with technology, especially in the Microsoft stack.

Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn.
