About Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions
Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions is a fast-growing defense technology company headquartered in the Tampa Bay area, Florida. Founded by U.S. and U.K. veterans, Marcurius brings decades of frontline experience across Special Operations and Intelligence missions, with deep expertise in asymmetric warfare and the real-world employment of unmanned systems.
Marcurius is building a new kind of unmanned systems company- multi-domain, multi-platform, and mission-driven. We integrate battle-proven platforms, resilient command-and-control architectures, and operator-led doctrine to deliver capabilities that work in contested environments. Our initial focus is the rapid fielding of advanced Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for modern maritime operations.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Electrical Engineering Technician to join our electrical integration team. In this role, you will build, integrate, and test wire harnesses, low-voltage electrical systems, and autonomy components for marine applications. You will work directly with the lead electrical engineer on marine power distribution, wire sizing, network topologies, and sensitive electronics, ensuring high-quality standards for marine durability and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Harness & Cable Fabrication: Build, break out, route, and terminate low-voltage wire harnesses and custom cable assemblies.
- Hardware & Systems Integration: Mount and wire autonomy hardware, sensors, marine communications equipment, Ethernet switches, and CAN bus networks.
- Physical Installation: Route cabling neatly through tight marine spaces, bulkheads, and conduits, ensuring proper strain relief, bend radius, and chafe protection.
- Testing & Verification: Conduct continuity, pinout, voltage, and ground checks; assist engineering with troubleshooting electrical and wiring faults.
- Component Assembly: Perform precision hand soldering, weather-sealing, heat shrinking, and lug crimping.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on Experience: 2+ years of electrical assembly, wire harness building, or technician experience (marine, automotive, robotics, or industrial context preferred).
- Electrical Diagnostics: Experience using Digital Multimeters (DMM), bench power supplies, and signal test equipment for troubleshooting and pinout validation.
- Tools & Assembly Techniques: Proficiency in precision hand soldering, heat shrinking, weather-sealing, and operating manual/hydraulic crimpers for heavy-gauge lugs.
- Power Systems: Practical familiarity working with 12–48VDC and 120VAC electrical systems.
- Schematics & Diagrams: Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical schematics, pinout tables, and wiring diagrams
Preferred Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in marine electrical systems, unmanned surface vessels (USVs), or vehicle prototyping.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automotive, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with CAN diagnostic tools (Vector CANalyzer, Kvaser, Peak PCAN, Vehicle Spy).
- ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) Electrical Certification.
Work Environment
Primarily onsite at Marcurius facilities in Clearwater, Florida, with direct work in workshops, vessels, docks, and field-testing environments. The role supports prototype development, electrical integration, and sea-trial preparation in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities and close cooperation across engineering, software, operations, and test teams.
Why Marcurius
Marcurius is a people-first, execution-focused organization assembling a small, high-impact team of engineers and operators. This role offers the opportunity to design and field electrical systems that directly enable real-world maritime missions and help build the technical foundation of a next-generation unmanned systems company.
