Controls Engineer
Pregl focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for industrial equipment and processes, often within a manufacturing environment. This role involves a blend of electrical engineering principles, automation knowledge, and troubleshooting skills. Pregl specializes in heat treating and metal-related manufacturing processes, so our Controls Engineers work with systems that regulate temperature, pressure, and other critical variables within these processes.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design and Development : Creating and implementing control systems for various types of equipment, often involving PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving : Diagnosing and resolving issues with existing control systems, often involving on?site support at customer locations.
- Documentation and Reporting : Developing, reviewing, and updating electrical engineering documents including :
Interconnect drawings for integrated systems.
System schematics.Instrumentation drawings.Procurement drawings.Instructions & procedures.Bills of materials.Testing and Validation : Ensuring that control systems function as intended and meet performance specifications.Continuous Improvement : Identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency and reliability of control systems.Example Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen?Bradley), HMI development, and SCADA systems.Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet / IP, Modbus).Strong analytical and problem?solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Experience with heat treatment or other industrial processes is a plus but not needed.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Willingness and flexibility to travel to interact with customers.This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval facilities and flight line access background checks.Pregl's Focus
