REPORTS TO : Hospital Manager POSITION OVERVIEW : As a Veterinary Technician - Swing Shift at EVCC-Mishawaka, you will : You will have familiarity with emergency protocols, and strong clinical support capabilities. Take initiative in patient care, mentoring junior team, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the hospital. Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and patient advocacy by modeling professionalism, compassion, and expertise. RESPONSIBILITIES : Confidently assist in triage and stabilization of critical patients, recognizing signs of shock, respiratory distress, and pain Lead patient restraint for advanced procedures including wound care, catheter placement, and CPR efforts Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatments, and observations Provide advanced care to hospitalized and ICU patients, including fluid monitoring, syringe feeding, and comfort protocols Assist with surgical prep, equipment maintenance, and cleaning under sterile conditions Set up and assist in radiology, laboratory testing, and emergency procedures Communicate confidently with the medical team, participating in patient rounds and care updates Ensure hospital cleanliness, safety compliance, and readiness for all patient scenarios Demonstrate leadership in handling emotionally intense situations with calm, professionalism, and empathy QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent required Must be willing to work the swing shift Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Veterinary Technician role, preferably in emergency care Demonstrated competency in advanced restraint, patient monitoring, and emergency protocols Strong communication and leadership skills; able to guide and support team members under pressure Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and patient welfare Must be detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive in patient and hospital care Flexible availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on feet for long periods in a fast-paced setting COMPENSATION + SUPPORT : Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience Shift differentials for nights and weekends Paid time off (PTO) Uniform allowance and continuing education (CE) stipend Health, dental, and vision insurance on day 1 of employment 401(k) with company match Hands-on mentorship and career advancement pathways If you are interested in this role, check us out at www.evcc.com or reach out to [email removed]. #IH Employment Type : Full Time
