Outreach Laboratory Sales and Service Representative
Position Summary Collaborating with the Laboratory Director and Outreach Manager, the Outreach Laboratory Sales and Service Representative plans and manages laboratory sales territory including development of new business according to marketing and sales plans.
Provides excellent service in order to retain existing business. Knowledgeable of laboratory test procedures. Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements pertaining to Laboratory Outreach.
Serves as a resource to clients and Laboratory staff. Identifies and communicates client needs. Coordinates new client set up, guiding the management of Outreach resource allocation, training and contracting.
- Education Associates - Required
- Experience 3-5 Years Clinical Healthcare Field - Required 3-5 Years Medical Technologist - Preferred 2-3 Years Sales / Service - Preferred Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and oral.
- License & Certification Medical Technologist - Preferred Other License - Preferred
- Core Job Functions Conducts on-going research to determine market share, assisting in assessing market strategies of competitors.
Regularly calls on existing clients assessing satisfaction with services and assisting in resolving problems. Prepares sales proposals, written communications and follow up reports from client and prospect visits.
Communicates regularly with customer service staff to exchange information pertinent to client requirements and assisting in resolution of service needs.
Meets regularly with Director of Laboratory Services to review sales goals, progress and market share information. Submits monthly report of sales and marketing activities and assists in developing published materials promoting the laboratory.
Facilitates implementation of applicable contracts when necessary. Arranges for supplies, report delivery, requisition custom profiles, phone lines set up and equipment as applicable.
Creates client billing accounts and reviews pricing annually or as needed. Promotes and assists in implementing Laboratory Compliance Plan.
Maintains regulatory documentation as needed such as annual profile letters and nursing home standing orders. Assists with monthly inspections of physician office phlebotomy sites.
Serves as a technical resource for laboratory consultation. Performs result entry and enters results from reference labs into Laboratory Information systems.
Assists clients with service problems and billing needs, investigating issues as needed and implementing solutions. Makes recommendations for additions or changes in technology to meet client needs utilizing available electronic technology such as programs and interfaces to facilitate client test ordering and billing compliance.
Monitors interfaces between laboratory and physician offices. Builds and maintain telecom sites. Assists clients with billing needs, coordinating follow up for incomplete billing information and overdue client accounts.
Works closely with the Outreach team leader to communicate new sales opportunities and keeps the Director appraised of trends and shifts in the market place.
