Job Description :
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Building Services Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate, your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City HI.
Accountabilities :
- Performs corrective, preventive, and unscheduled building maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on assigned mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturers' maintenance instructions.
- Performs corrective and preventive maintenance duties related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, HVAC, lighting, cranes, etc.
- Responds to equipment malfunctions and completes repairs throughout the rail system, including substations and train stations.
- Performs building maintenance such as roof inspection, parking lot maintenance, carpentry, painting, etc.
- Observes equipment in operation to detect failures and locates causes of malfunctions.
- Uses electronic test equipment, power tools, and other specialized hand tools as required.
- Completes operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
- Oversees building maintenance contracts and service work; processes and contracts out repair requests.
- Participates in training programs as required.
- Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rule Book, and first-aid procedures.
- The role requires flexibility and efficiency, including shift rotation, weekends, and holidays, typical of major infrastructure projects and transit systems.
- Ensures execution of simple failure analysis and technical investigations.
- Supports rectification of defects and critical failures.
- Supports onsite spare parts management and the repair cycle.
- Drives work vehicles when responding to emergencies and as required.
- Operates OTE equipment, including track maintenance vehicles, in accordance with training and qualifications.
- Produces accurate maintenance records and supports monitoring of maintenance performance using a computerized system.
- Performs cross-functional duties on systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as trained.
Required Skills / Knowledge :
Experience in electrical and structural equipment maintenance.Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.Knowledge of safety rules regarding lock-out / tag-out protection.Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and maintenance instructions.Desired Skills / Knowledge :
1-2 years' experience.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Education :
High School diploma or equivalent.The starting pay for this position is $28.16 / hour.
