Job Description
The impact you will have : The purpose of the TQP is to oversee, manage, and administer the Teacher Evaluation System (TES) consistent with the vision and values agreed to and outlined in the SJTA-SJUSD collective bargaining agreement and TES Handbook.
The voting members of the TQP will meet outside of the standard professional workday in SJUSD. The Teacher Quality Panel is made up of five teachers and five administrators who serve three-year terms.
Performance Responsibilities in concert with the other members of the TQP :
- Ensure that proper evaluation procedures are followed and to the extent necessary that evaluations submitted for review are thorough, rigorous, and accurate.
- Participate in the appropriate resolution of any conflicting evaluation results that arise between the administrative evaluators and consulting teachers (CTs).
- Make recommendations to the Superintendent for employees who are being non-reelected or who are moving to Teacher Assistance Program (TAP).
- Oversee TAP including the review of all cases four times throughout the year.
- Ensure that all who participate in the evaluation system understand the process and their rights.
- Attend TQP meetings as necessary to conduct applicable business as described in both the SJTA contract and TES Handbook.
- Annually, submit a report to the Superintendent and SJTA President detailing its activities and make recommendations for changes.
- Oversee the annual revision process of the TES Handbook.
- Review any notices of concern from administrators to place a teacher in a full evaluation cycle when it is determined that they need support.

- Five years of successful teaching experience
- Five years of successful administration experience preferred
