Job Description : Housing Assistance Coordinator
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Assistance Coordinator to manage and support the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. The successful candidate will :
- Determine continued eligibility and assistance levels for clients receiving housing subsidies.
- Maintain and manage an assigned caseload, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations, policies, and performance standards.
- Assist clients in obtaining safe, decent, and sanitary housing, maintaining relationships with participants, property owners, and community agencies.
- Conduct interviews, calculate rents, utility reimbursements, and subsidy payments.
- Facilitate eligibility verification, including employment, welfare, social security benefits, background checks, and assets.
- Maintain accurate participant data and records in the tracking system.
- Conduct client and owner briefings on program participation, eligibility, and regulations.
- Calculate rents, initiate and manage Housing Assistance Payment contracts, and oversee program compliance.
- Research and resolve client and property owner complaints.
- Prepare performance and program reports and coordinate HQS inspections.
- Analyze rent reasonableness assessments and perform other assigned duties.

This position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and potentially working with clients who may be unpredictable or violent. Background checks, including criminal history, credit, and employment verification, will be conducted.
