Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY : Oversee the day to day operations of the Respiratory Department including staffing, scheduling, provides therapeutic modes of respiratory treatments to patients as needed Oversees the coordination, scheduling, and assist with bronchoscopy procedures.
Providing new hire orientation, employee training, evaluations, corrective action and staff development. Responsible for inventory and ordering, monitoring rental equipment needs and handling instrument issues.
Helps with employees that perform cardiopulmonary services including EEG Lab and EKG / Holter Lab. Helps ensures productivity standards are met and financial goals are met.
Helps and participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in order to meet the facilities vision and mission.
Helps in assuring employees follow the policies and procedures of the facilities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
Four years of clinical respiratory therapy experience, including at least three years in critical care, and one year in a lead or supervisory role.
Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of healthcare professionals. Must have demonstrated good leadership skills with a to commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, and Service Excellence.
Clinical experiences and theoretical / technical competence in all present specialized areas serviced by the Cardiopulmonary Department.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE :
1. Associate Degree graduate for an accredited respiratory care program. Bachelor Degree preferred. License Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the Texas Medical Board.
Registered Respiratory Therapist by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Must have a current Healthcare provider BLS and obtain ACLS, PALS and NRP within days of hire date and current thereafter.
Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
