About You

We are looking for a highly experienced, talented Staff Robotics Software Engineer (Project Lead) with a strong background in state estimation and strong software development skills. As an experienced project lead, you are technically minded but also comfortable leading very hands-on, cross-disciplinary projects or initiatives. Our ideal candidate has at least 5 years of practical experience and a strong background and familiarity with robotics (state estimation, mathematics, etc.) from their work career or degree program, enabling them to quickly contribute to and advance our initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development and deployment of state estimation technologies across a variety of hardware (forklift, AGV, etc.) platforms.
• Own and lead major project efforts, driving software and mixed software / hardware initiatives within Gather AI.
• Design, implement, and test vision-based and multi-sensory state estimation systems.
• Conduct on-site visits to early customer locations to test and validate system performance in real-world environments.
• Proactively exercise the application in real-world scenarios, identifying areas for architectural enhancement and implementing improvements to vehicle / pallet state estimation and task tracking logic / workflow screens.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to physical hardware that may impact software performance, such as advising on camera positioning or mitigating vibration problems.
• Work closely with the Material Handling Equipment team and our talented deployment engineering team to ensure that the product is delivering value to our customers.
