Position Summary

Provides and plans safe efficient age specific nursing care for patients / families related to lactation services.

Essential Functions

• Patient care / assessment; (20%)

Education

Other Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing Required or

ADN) Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required

BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred

Work Experience

1+ years Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. Required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of needs of antepartal and postpartal mother. Required
• Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. Required
• Evidence of ongoing continuing education and professional development. Required
• Uses selected technical (lactation) and office equipment (., fax, computer, telephone) to meet patient and family needs. Required

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications

• Completion of lactation educator training program with current certification Required and
• Must sit for IBCLC exam Required and
• Successfully pass the IBCLC exam Required
