Job Title: ICC Special Inspector
Compensation: $28-32/hour depending on experience and certifications
Location: Meridian, ID
FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, hours may vary
Perform structural inspections in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications for concrete, masonry, steel, welding, and fireproofing.
Conduct soil density and concrete testing and report findings accurately.
Interpret project drawings and specifications to verify compliance with applicable codes and engineer requirements.
Clearly communicate inspection results and project requirements to Project Managers, Contractors, Engineers, and Testing Technicians.
Prepare detailed, legible inspection reports and maintain project records without ambiguity.
Maintain certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policy.
Uphold a professional attitude and appearance while interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
Turn in timecards and datasheets daily, while keeping company vehicles and equipment in proper working order.
High School diploma or equivalent; ability to perform written instructions, procedures, and calculations.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction inspections, materials testing, or a related field.
Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and inspection methods.
Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs), climbing ladders/scaffolding (up to 100'), twisting, and crouching.
Excellent communication skills and professional client-facing presence.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Recommendations from three Project Managers.
High level of leadership and technical skills.
Strong record of client satisfaction (less than 1% client complaints).
Ability to manage multiple inspection assignments independently with accuracy and timeliness.
ICC Certifications in one or more of the following:
Reinforced Concrete
Structural Masonry
Structural Steel and Welding
Spray-Applied Fireproofing
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Safety Training
