Group Portfolio Manager : PMO Portfolio Management

Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week at minimum. This position will be located at : Cole Engineering Center in Warren MI.

The Role

As the PMO Portfolio Group Portfolio Manager your main role is to define and oversee the activity of the Portfolio Managers executing robust portfolio management processes in alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive program management expertise be adept at cross-functional leadership embodies a proactive and pragmatic approach tackling tasks with enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering results.

What Youll Do

Build and lead a team of (5) Portfolio Managers

Lead team through change fostering a culture of inclusivity and adaptability

Implement robust portfolio management processes to achieve organizational goals and strategic objectives

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the creation and optimization of portfolio management processes

Identify potential risks and key interdependencies develop mitigation strategies and action plans to address them

Display professional courage by driving results with a sense of urgency inspiring the team to operate with heightened engagement and efficiency

Apply domain expertise across key functions (program engineering product design) appropriate project management methodologies (Agile Waterfall Lean) and strong business acumen

Model transparent communication of project outcomes and / or risks to the appropriate stakeholders and management channels

Mentor and develop others providing technical training and establishing effective mechanisms for knowledge-sharing

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

BS in Engineering Math Computer Science Information Technology Business or related studies

5 years of proven experience in project management / product management / portfolio management

Leadership experience in a highly visible role

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication methods to enable effective work with business partners aiming to meet required mutual goals

Demonstrated ability working through others and influencing without direct authority

Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic)

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

MBA

PMP Certification

10 years of proven experience in project management / product management / portfolio management

5 years of experience leading and managing teams
