Job Description
The OpenShift / Cloud Engineer is responsible for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership for Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings. Responsibilities include supporting application migrations to PaaS, automation, and enabling modernization activities.
Required Skills and Experience
5+ years' experience administering Red Hat OpenShift on VMs, Bare Metal, and ROSA
Expertise with OpenShift Container Platform v4.15 through latest stable versions
Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation / OpenShift Platform Plus
Ceph Administration knowledge
Cloud Administration experience (AWS, Azure and / or IBM Cloud)
Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and containerized application / microservices deployment architectures
Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures
Experience migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads
Demonstrated skill in configuration management / scripting technologies (at least one)
Experience with automated deployment tools
Deep understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices
Hands-on experience with CI / CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, or comparable)
Strong analytic skills and ability to multi-task across projects
Outstanding communication skills for conveying complex technical issues via written, oral, or digital products
Working knowledge of networking (protocols, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)
Willingness to document, share knowledge, and train other team members
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with VMware technologies (vCenter, vRA, vRO)
OpenShift on bare metal and ROSA experience
Azure experience
SSL certificate management knowledge
Experience with Agile teams, tools, and practices (kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.)
Proven knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies
Experience with monitoring and logging at container or pod level (Dynatrace, QRadar)
