Seats Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking ofa Seats Design Engineer for a 8+ Months Contract role with one of our Automotive Industry leading Client in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate would have 4-7 years of experience in automotive seat system design and with proficiency in 3DX / CATIA V6 , GD&T, and DVP&R documentation.

Pay Range : $55.00 - $60.00 per hour on W2(Including benefits), the salary range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Overview :

The Seats Design Engineer will lead the design and development of seating systems including structures, mechanisms, foam, and trim for vehicle interiors. This position requires expertise in mechanical design, comfort and safety compliance, and manufacturability optimization.

Key Responsibilities :

• Own the full CAD design of seat systems using 3DX software.
• Develop concepts that meet all functional, ergonomic, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform feasibility studies for tooling, manufacturing, assembly, and craftsmanship
• Execute interface analysis for packaging, clearances, and joint locations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (foam, trim, safety, and structures) to ensure cohesive seat system performance.
• Document and maintain DFMEA, DVPR, boundary diagram, and P-diagram deliverables.
• Manage prototype builds and ensure timely release of all CAD and drawing deliverables.
