The Senior Physician - Medical Director plays a crucial role in directing medical and infection control activities, ensuring high-quality general medical evaluation and treatment for patients with psychiatric disorders. Key responsibilities include :
- Leading and supervising Physicians and APRNs in the general medical clinic
- Performing comprehensive physical assessments and medical history
- Overseeing the hospital infection control plan and monitoring infectious diseases
- Participating in audits and performance improvement activities
- Providing treatment to state hospital employees injured in the course of employment
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) required :
Requirements include a medical doctor license in Texas, graduation from an accredited college of medicine, completion of a residency program, and experience in medical, clinical, or public health work.
