Distribution Manager - Memphis Tennessee
Effectively manage warehouse and delivery operations and personnel in the Memphis facility in Tennessee to ensure departmental and company goals are met.
Plan, direct and coordinate all areas of activities, through Managers and Supervisors, including receiving, order scheduling, loading, materials management, quality control and cost control.
Responsible for strict control over breakage, spoilage, adjustments, inventory maintenance and replenishment.
Establishes and effectively manages departmental budgets and objectives.
Manage employees, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations, development training and promoting a team-oriented environment.
Provides analysis and development of the distribution process including quality, safety and cost reduction.
Responsible for integration and management of strategic initiatives related to distribution.
Develops and establishes plans, operating objectives, production standards, goals and performance standards for warehouse operations.
Ensure departmental and company goals of making timely, accurate deliveries in a professional, efficient, and safe manner are met.
Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking fleet via GPS.
Manager will ride with assigned employees to evaluate delivery driver's job performance. These deliveries and rides with evaluations will have to be done in all types of weather conditions, unless deemed unsafe by company management.
Responsible for accurate management of time & attendance system.
Opening / closing facility as needed.
Enforcing company policies & procedures consistently.
Writing Annual Budgets.
Ensuring policies and procedures are followed regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Review of monthly fuel statements that are sent out by the Corporate Fleet Manager.
Keep inventory of all Delivery Fuel cards.
Proper filing and record keeping of all DOT required documents.
Ensuring fleet maintenance is kept up to date, and all needed repairs are made.
Other duties assigned.
Must be 21 years of age.
5+ years minimum upper warehouse management experience in a fast pace multi shift warehouse environment.
Previous experience working with union preferred.
JBA experience preferred.
WMS / RFID Technology experience required.
Supply Chain Industry and 3PL knowledge preferred.
Must be able to operate a forklift : sit down / Reach truck / Cherry Picker.
Must be able to obtain & maintain forklift certification & trainer certification.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to plan and control logistics.
Must computer skills (i.e. word, outlook, excel, data entry).
Maintain / Implement Companywide policy adherence and reporting compliance Statewide.
Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking fleet via GPS.
Schedule repairs and routine maintenance of fleet, maintain records.
Keep DOT records up to date.
ELD and DOT compliance with CDL / A drivers.
Enter and submit payment of departmental expenses.
Experience writing budgets.
Monitor rout efficiency.
Build a culture of professionalism, safety, and pride.
This is a senior management position that may require long hours (no designated start or finish time). Flexibility is a must.
Must have and be able to maintain valid driver's license.
Must have and be able to maintain 100 / 300 / 100 liability insurance.
Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively.
Must be able to communicate with people effectively and professionally.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work overtime when needed.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking warehouse environment.
Must possess strong customer service skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to work independently and with little to no supervision.
Must be able and willing to take directions.
Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. police background, reference checks, etc).
Cannot have more than two (2) : moving violations and / or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph).
Cannot have more than one (1) : speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.
Cannot have a major violation such as : DUI / DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and / or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years.

Must be able to work long hours, there is no definite quit time, must be able to work until the shift is complete.
