Patient Access Representative

Howard County Medical Center invites applications for the position of Patient Access Representative at its location in St.

Paul, Nebraska. The Patient Access Representative registers patients, conducts patient interviews, explains patient bill of rights, and collects patient signature on appropriate forms.

This position is also responsible for explaining hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and collects co-pays. This individual will serve as a back up to answering phones and transferring calls for the facility.

Position Hours : Monday - Thursday 7 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, Friday 7 : 00am - 5 : 00pm, Rotating Saturday 7 : 30am - 12 : 00pm with a floating day off during the week.

Education / Qualifications / Skills / Abilities :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a related field preferred
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to generate, read, interpret, and take action as it relates to basic financial statements, national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy / procedures
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships
• Ability to work with skill in identifying problems
• Ability to work with many types of people and have good customer service skills.
• Ability to answer the phone and transfer phone calls to the appropriate people.
