Scale House Operator
Circular Services is the largest privately held recycling and organics service provider in the U.S. It operates over 25 facilities serving major long-term municipal and commercial contracts. The mission of Circular Services is to keep valuable materials in circulation and minimize the cost and environmental impact of landfills. The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix.
Responsibilities
- Operate scale house computers to obtain weight information for incoming recycle haulers and outbound shipments.
- Compare scale tickets and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents and weights
- Operates traffic control devices to allow vehicles to proceed to tipping area and exit from facility
- Issues receipts to vehicle driver and collects tickets
- Maintain accurate overall record keeping for reporting and analysis
- Use of radio communications with worksite operators
- Communicating with haulers and truck drivers
- Communicating with supervisors and peers, providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, written form, and email and in person.
- Performing day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Maintain, monitor, and clean work areas, counters, windows and area around scale office
- Follows company safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries and accidents
