Our law firm client is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to support a busy team of attorneys in our Uniondale, NY office. This role requires someone who is proactive, highly organized, and accustomed to handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

About the Role
The Practice Assistant will manage a wide range of administrative and document-production tasks. This person should be comfortable taking ownership of assignments, shifting between projects quickly, and working both independently and in collaboration with others. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to several attorneys, anticipating needs and adjusting to individual workstyles and priorities.
- Draft, revise, format, and finalize correspondence, contracts, and other written materials.
- Prepare and edit litigation documents—such as pleadings, motions, and other case filings—and ensure they meet court formatting requirements.
- Submit filings through electronic court systems (NYSCEF, ECF, AAA) and monitor confirmation notices.
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, conference calls, and virtual conferences.
- Open new client matters, prepare engagement paperwork, and maintain accurate records in firm systems.
- Enter attorney billable time, track expenses, and assist with reimbursements.
- Handle general administrative support such as scanning, copying, answering phones, and organizing documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of law firm experience in litigation or related support is highly preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to type at least 55 WPM and strong experience with advanced formatting and document styling.Familiarity with legal software such as Intapp, iTimekeep, and Chrome River (or similar platforms).Strong multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.Self-starter who collaborates well with others and adapts easily to changing priorities.Schedule / Work Model
Full-time, Monday to Friday | 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PMHybrid work structure : three days onsite and two remote (flexibility to work overtime as needed)
