Description
The Staff Accountant will perform account reconciliations, administer and oversee the Purchase Card program, track and maintain capital projects and fixed assets and assist on various projects for the Accounting Group.
This position will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller and could require periodic travel.
Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities
- Manage / maintain credit card program, including download of monthly activity and entry into ERP system
- Run financial statements
- Create capital project accounts, maintain fixed asset database, reconcile fixed assets quarterly
- Support annual external audit
- Ensure proper accounting procedures are adhered to for intercompany transactions, which may require the preparation of manual journal entries and intercompany invoices
- Interacts with cross-functional teams including plant operations, procurement and commercial groups
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Primary work in a corporate office environment, with some hybrid flexibility
- Other accounting tasks as assigned
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience / Required Skills
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent organizational, time management skills and multi-tasking ability
- Effective communication skills
- Great Plains experience is a plus
Physical Demands
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time, up to 12 hours per day.
