Description
Responsible for the outbound marketing activities for Wi-Tronix products, crafting the value proposition, messaging, and positioning for products, and conceiving and developing innovative marketing programs that drive demand, awareness and thought leadership.
This role involves significant cross-team collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure that we are experts in our buyers, the buyer’s journey, and their buying criteria, and transferring that knowledge to the buyer’s organization.
Go-to-Market Strategies / Product Positioning and Messaging (30%)
- Owns the strategies, development, messaging, execution of the programs that create compelling, differentiated messaging and positioning, with a clear understanding of the target customer and the core capabilities of the offering.
- Guides the content creation including collateral, thought leadership and solution presentations, website content, sell sheets, user testimonials, videos, blogs, articles and more to execute communication strategies and accelerate the buyer’s journey.
- Serves as the expert on how Wi-Tronix customers buy and their buying criteria to guide the produce positioning.
- Participates in activities that might feed collateral for b-roll, customer testimonials, industry events, trade shows, or other marketing materials
Product Marketing Expertise (50%)
- Partners with the Product team : Owns the development and execution on go-to-market / product launch strategy based on competitive research, business model, product packaging and distribution On a regular cadence, collaborate with the Product Management team on potential new features based on customer intelligence Owns the creation and the process of Release notes based on Product’s notes Provides guidance through the lifecycle on products including potential offshoots for future features Understands the overall competitive landscape and related markets summarizing market trends and proactively shares that knowledge with the Product team
- Partners with the Sales / Sales Ops team : Enable the Sales group and channel organizations to win through effective sales enablement tools and initiative Support Sales in the identification of product features to spotlight key value props enabling sales to shape and create deals.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team : Assist with the planning and launch of new offerings, capabilities and releases as well as participate in managing the cross-functional implementation of those plans.
Market intelligence (20%)
- Responsible for competitive market studies to inform features, pricing, and packaging; works with the Sales team to create an actionable plan for the Sales team to execute
- Stays abreast of industry news and events, industry analyst reports and social activity. Leverage these to educate key constituents and to drive awareness and demand generation.
- Responsible for researching opportunities with government agencies, lobbyists, special interest groups, and other revenue generating groups for potential partnerships
Control Activities (10%)
Position holder is accountable for control activities within the marketing teams responsibilities
Qualifications
- BA in marketing, business, or software engineering, or equivalent work experience; Masters a plus
- 3+ years’ experience in B2B, SaaS product marketing, as a marketing professional or product manager
- Rail and / or transportation industry experience a plus
- Advanced understanding in SaaS and Cloud business models
- Understanding product development and ecosystems
- Ability to quickly grasp an understanding of product features and benefits demonstrated through the ability to competently communicate verbally at a conversational level
- The ability to take data / information and tell a compelling visual story
- Advanced communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
- An ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Experience with SalesForce
- Experience sourcing and managing 3rd party agencies and contractors to develop collateral and other key product marketing deliverables
