Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Work Internship Field Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and mentoring social work interns in a hands-on, field-based learning environment.
The field instructor will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of social workers by providing practical experience, ensuring activities align with field education objectives, and conducting weekly supervision sessions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Complete online Social Work Field Orientation Training prior to start of position
- Provide weekly supervision and mentorship to social work interns in a supportive and constructive manner to meet educational and professional development
- Provide monthly supervision with the student and Task Supervisor
- Complete the Learning Agreement with the student and Task Supervisor to meet the CSWE competency goals and objectives
- Monitor and ensure that interns' activities and assignments align with the field education / Learning Agreement objectives
- Guide interns in the application of social work theories, principles, and ethical standards to real-world situations
- Use supervision sessions to address questions, provide feedback, and offer guidance on for their professional growth and knowledge
- Conduct scheduled evaluations of performance through Learning Agreement objectives
- Approve student internship hours
- Collaborate with the Field Education Coordinator and other staff members to enhance the overall internship experience
- Communicate effectively with interns, agency staff, and faculty to foster a collaborative learning environment
- Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in the field of social work
- Participate in professional development to enhance your own skills as an instructor
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Current Licensed Social Worker (LMSW, LCSW or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate social work experience
- Previous experience in field instruction or mentorship is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of social work theories, methods, and ethical standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
