Patient Access Specialist
We are looking for a meticulous and empathetic Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Rochester, Michigan. In the Patient Access Specialist role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their registration and access processes are handled efficiently and compassionately. The Patient Access Specialist is a contract position, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute towards patient care while developing your attention to detail.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients via phone or in person.
- Manage a high volume of incoming calls efficiently and professionally.
- Schedule patient visits and procedures for multiple hospitals and outpatient centers, adhering to departmental protocols.
- Respond to patient inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department or location.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clinical staff regarding real-time patient status.
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize scheduling efficiency and effectiveness.
- Navigate multiple technology systems to complete scheduling and registration tasks.
- Collect and accurately enter demographic, clinical, billing, and insurance information.
- Provide patient education on preparation and instructions for scheduled procedures.
- Inform patients of potential co-pays and deductibles due at the time of service.
Available Shifts : 3pm-11 : 30pm (32 Hours a Week Rotating Schedule) | Week 1 is Sunday Monday Wed Thurs Week 2 Mon Tues Fri Sat
Required Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 1 year of call center experience.Strong attention to detail.Proven customer service skills.Ability to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously.Comfortable handling a high volume of calls.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in a hospital or medical setting assisting patients.Working knowledge of medical terminology.
