Primary Purpose : Provides effective counseling services to outpatient clients in accordance with OASAS and Agency rules and regulations. Conducts screenings and assessments of clients. Collaborates with others in treatment planning, service coordination and clinical evaluation. Reviews all clinic documentation and case records according to agency policy and regulatory requirements. This position will require working with the Adolescent population. Must be a Q.H.P.
Responsibilities :
1. Provides group and individual counseling services to clients in recovery; this includes motivation, support, and encouragement for client goals.
2. Works cooperatively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to meet the treatment needs of each client.
3. Conducts screenings, assessments and referrals. Motivates clients to do their best.
4. Adheres to all directives and policies of the ACCA at all times.
5. Writes effective treatment plans.
6. Maintains a caseload of up to 35 clients.
7. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in case records according to agency policy and regulatory requirements.
8. Assists in providing a safe and respectful environment for treatment.
9. Attends and participates in all assigned meetings, trainings, case conference and committees.
10. Makes and completes all referrals to appropriate services.
11. Continues to seek and develop professional growth and activities.
12. Maintains a professional relationship with the community, peers and other providers.
13. Other responsibilities / tasks as assigned by the Program Director.
Education Requirements : Associate Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree. At least four (4) years work experience in an OASAS licensed facility.
License Requirements : C.A.S.A.C-T., C.A.S.A.C-P., C.A.S.A.C. or other Q.H.P.
Experience Requirements : A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a counselor, preferably in an OASAS licensed outpatient chemical dependency treatment program. Experience working with the Adolescent Population is recommended.
