Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager serves as the right hand to the General Manager and a key leader across the entire property. This high-visibility role works closely with the Beverage Manager, Special Events leadership team, and all FOH and BOH department leaders to ensure seamless operations, elevated service execution, and consistent brand excellence.
As the face of the venue , the AGM inspires the team daily, drives guest satisfaction, executes operational strategy, and supports the continued evolution of Odyssey's renewed identity.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring a polished, efficient, and guest-focused environment.
Partner with the GM to implement systems, SOPs, and service standards that reflect Odyssey's elevated experience.
Ensure strong communication and collaboration between FOH and BOH teams, including Beverage, Culinary, Events, and Facilities.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
Act as a visible floor presence and a brand ambassador; engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and ownership.
Uphold and model Odyssey's hospitality standards, immediately addressing guest concerns and creating memorable "surprise and delight" moments.
Study guest profiles, loyalty behaviors, and historical data to personalize experiences.
Team Development & Culture
Coach, motivate, and support FOH leaders and hourly team members through hands-on mentorship.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management, ensuring a positive workplace culture focused on growth and excellence.
Lead pre-shift meetings, service coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial & Business Performance
Assist with forecasting, labor planning, inventory oversight, and cost management to achieve financial goals.
Help create and track zone-based sales goals with the management team.
Support strategic initiatives that enhance revenue, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Beverage & Events Collaboration
Work closely with the Beverage Manager on rollout of new programs, service training, and quality control.
Partner with Special Events leadership to ensure flawless execution of on-site events, banquets, and private dining experiences.
Maintain strong cross-department alignment to protect quality and brand standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment.
Proven leadership ability with a passion for hospitality and team development.
Strong understanding of operational systems such as Toast, R365, OpenTable, and POS reporting.
Excellent communication skills, professional presence, and the ability to remain composed in a high-energy environment.
Experience collaborating with beverage and event teams is a plus.
