We are looking for a talented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Fridley, Minnesota. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a vital part in handling both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring financial accuracy and smooth operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background and a commitment to delivering quality results within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities :

Process vendor invoices with precision, ensuring proper coding and entry into the accounting system.

Review and reconcile statements and invoices, promptly addressing any discrepancies.

Manage weekly payment runs through checks, electronic transfers, or wires, ensuring all approvals are in place.

Maintain accurate vendor records and handle inquiries regarding payments in a timely manner.

Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing AP aging reports and accruals.

Generate and distribute customer invoices based on contracts and sales orders, ensuring accuracy.

Record incoming payments, apply them to accounts, and reconcile deposits effectively.

Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate with customers to resolve payment issues.

Prepare AR aging reports and support collection efforts to ensure timely payments.

Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for AP / AR workflows.

Requirements :

Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.

Strong skills in billing, account reconciliation, and journal entries.

Experience with coding and processing invoices accurately.

Familiarity with handling approved invoices and resolving discrepancies.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial data management.

Ability to support audits by providing proper documentation and records.

Excellent organizational and communication skills for vendor and customer interactions.

Prior experience working in a manufacturing or similar industry setting is preferred.
