About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 3 years, previously inpatient or outpatient experience highly preferred

License : Wisconsin / compact license required

Certifications : BLS required

Must-Have :

• Previous charge experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Oncology experience

Description : Start date is ASAP.

First-time travelers are not accepted.

Locals are accepted at a lower rate.

Required certifications include BLS.

The nurse will be responsible for triaging patient phone calls.

They will answer My Chart messages and enter physician orders, including labs and diagnostics.

The nurse will follow up on treatment plans and genetic testing.

They will arrange and coordinate diagnostics for patients.

Patient education will include chemotherapy talks.

The nurse will work closely with the infusion and radiation teams to coordinate patient care.

They will support the advanced practice providers in their duties.

The nurse will track INR patients with labs and medications.

They will follow up with iron infusion patients.

This is a fast-paced medical hematology / oncology clinic.

Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams such as IV therapy, physical therapy, and social services.

The daily census includes approximately 45 patients with 45 visits per day.

The clinic consists of 15 rooms and no inpatient beds.

The nurse will communicate abnormal lab values effectively.

Skills in managing alterations in skin and mucous membranes, altered mental status, and edema are essential.

Experience with various cancer types, hospice care, and post-surgical care is required.

Patient and family education and support are a critical part of this role.

The nurse will need to be familiar with isolation precautions.
