What you will do
- Responsible for the monthly accounting close including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining fluctuations and variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to maintain flow of communication and support.
- Understand relevant accounting principles and communicate the application of GAAP to peers and business partners.
- Analyze current procedures. Recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability.
- Work with internal and external auditors regarding accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and support documentation.
- Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to solve deficiencies.
- Experience working with U.S. GAAP and SOX procedural and documentation requirements
How you will shine :
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional accounting experience
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Working knowledge of Oracle or NetSuite is preferred
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting large volumes of financial data with precision and efficiency.
- Previous accounting experience with a publicly traded company preferred but not required
- Experience with multi-location retail or consumer services companies preferred but not required
- Active Certified Public Accountant license preferred but not required
- Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Science in Accounting preferred but not required
