Overview
Senior Employment Law Attorney II at Sphinx Top is a high-level attorney with 5+ years of law practice experience and a book. The successful candidate is self-directed and thrives with support and autonomy. Approximately 60% of work is generated through Gravis Law's lead generation and marketing and / or other attorneys in the office; 40% of billable work is generated by the attorney. The role includes presenting at events and leadership events. Attorneys have access to coaching and support services for development and networking. The firm prioritizes work-life integration, a collaborative culture, and a competitive compensation and incentive structure.
Responsibilities
- Successful record of mediation experience
- Significant and successful trial experience
- Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues
- Writing memoranda, briefs, letters, and other documents
- Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients
- Performing discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation
- Performing due diligence in all matters
- Strong communication and advocacy skills, including competence in empathetic listening
- Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to production / collection objectives; depending on practice area this may include outside core hours and weekend consults
- Closing consults within Gravis range of 30-50% depending on practice area
- Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis; failure to do so on a recurring basis may affect financial health
- Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive
- Accurately update client information, engagement letters, fees, trust, and invoices as required
- If over-subscribed, share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff to meet objectives
- Actively engage in brand expansion through blogs, social media posts, board and organization participation
- Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive reviews
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Excellent writing and interpersonal skillsExcellent legal research skillsJuris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law schoolAdmission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice5+ years of experience as an attorneyAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substitutedWork Environment / Conditions / Physical Demands
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.
