YOUR ROLE :
As a Precision Machining Specialist, you'll handle the creation, modification, and operation of high-precision machine tools, adhering to exacting specifications. Master the art of mechanics, comprehend metal properties, and follow meticulous machining processes. You'll be proficient in using machinery like Vertical Turret Lathes or Manual Lathes.
YOUR TASKS :
- Expertly set up and hand-machine components for diverse pump types in a bespoke job shop environment
- Fabricate precise items such as impellers, wear-rings, and bearing housings
- Decipher technical drawings and sketches for operational strategy
- Execute high-precision cutting and shaping with advanced machines including boring mills and grinders
- Verify dimensions of critical components and utilize tools for accurate measurement
- Assess machining processes to boost operational efficiency
- Ensure all tools are in optimal working order
- Strict adherence to Hydro's safety standards
- Partner with engineers and peers to solve complex issues
