- Job Summary :
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will work closely with the Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to patients. The COTA will assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting exercises, and monitoring progress. Additionally, the COTA will maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. This role is to support patients in their homes and ALF's.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to execute treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Instruct patients in specific exercises and activities as directed by the therapist.
- Record and report patient data, including vital signs, range of motion, and functional abilities.
- Provide clear instructions to patients and their families on prescribed exercises and home care procedures.
- Offer advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing future injuries.
- Communicate effectively with the Occupational Therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
- Adhere to facility policies and procedures regarding safety, hygiene, and infection control.
- Qualifications :
- Florida State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- CPR or BLS certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
