Job Description :

Under the direction of the Section Manager, Design and Construction, manages projects in all phases of the project life cycle (planning, design, construction, and closeout). Responsiblities include :

  • Managing architectural / engineering services contracts, preparing documents for construction projects, and serving as field inspector during construction.
  • Establishing estimates, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, performance, and contract requirements.
  • Resolving project related issues, disputes, and claims.
  • Evaluating and processing change orders.
  • Writing task order project scopes for solicitation of architectural and engineering professional services.
  • Reviewing and negotiating proposed architectural professional services proposals, invoices, and fees.
  • Managing project documentation and contractual responsibilities during pre-design, design development, and construction.
  • Performing quality assurance / quality control reviews for architectural and engineering design submittals.
  • Supervising construction contract work in the field, ensures that the project is constructed in accordance with detailed plans and specifications and contract requirements.
  • Writing construction documents for bid letting.
  • Performing all close out tasks associated with the completion of all architectural and engineering services and construction contract work on projects assigned.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications : Education :

Must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

Experience :

Must have minimum of six years of design and / or construction administration experience, an emphasis on site inspection / observation is preferred.

Licenses / Certifications :

An Engineer-in-Training certification and / or professional engineering license is preferred.

Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Proficiencies :

Knowledge of design for vehicle maintenance / industrial facilities, civil sitework, parking lot planning and underground utilities is preferred.

Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as using AutoCAD and / or MicroStation; prior experience with e-Builder and Bluebeam is preferred.

Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and be detail oriented with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, type on a computer, and travel to meetings, and navigate local project sites. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions :

The position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment, but will also travel to local project sites infrequently. The typical workday is conducted over an 8-hour period and can begin as early as 7 : 00 am and end no later than 6 : 00 pm, Monday through Friday.

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of a 6 month job introduction period.

Anticipated Starting Salary Range : $90,419-109,936
