Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate basic patient care in a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) setting. This full-time day position involves assisting patients with daily needs, observing and reporting changes in condition, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked patient environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate staff.
- Support nursing care plans by performing delegated patient care tasks.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Manage medication and supply retrieval as per unit protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform additional skills such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and waived lab testing based on competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Education and Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.Current registration as Nursing Assistant II with the state nursing board and Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services.BLS certification from the American Heart Association.Experience and Skills :
Previous experience as Nursing Assistant I preferred.Strong guest relations and communication skills.Ability to read and write English effectively.Flexible and adaptable to varying work tasks and schedules.Basic computer proficiency.Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.Physical Requirements :
