Job Title : Data Engineer Consultant
Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer Consultant to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines that power advanced analytics and business insights. This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming raw data into actionable intelligence through modern data engineering practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage cutting-edge tools, and ensure data integrity, performance, and usability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Pipeline Development :
Architect and maintain robust, automated pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data from diverse sources using modern ELT frameworks.
DBT Expertise :
Develop modular, reusable, and well-documented transformations in DBT, ensuring adherence to best practices for maintainability and scalability.
Version Control & CI / CD :
Manage code repositories in GitHub, implement branching strategies, and contribute to automated testing and deployment workflows.
Advanced SQL Engineering :
Write optimized, complex SQL queries leveraging Common Table Expressions (CTEs) and window functions to improve clarity and performance.
Data Modeling :
Design and implement dimensional models, star schemas, and dynamic tables to support analytics and reporting needs.
Performance Optimization :
Continuously monitor and tune data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in cloud environments (e.G., Snowflake).
Testing & Quality Assurance :
Build robust testing frameworks for data validation, schema checks, and transformation accuracy to ensure reliability.
Documentation & Standards :
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data flows, models, and processes to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
Collaboration :
Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications :
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and GitHub workflows.
Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
Familiarity with Fivetran or other ingestion tools.
Strong understanding of data modeling principles and ETL / ELT best practices.
Soft Skills :
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
