Job descriptionBLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note : Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Comfortable working within and knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology and computer platforms highly desired.
Facility / Security / Support Services
This position is based out of the HFHS Novi EHS office however the expectation is this candidate will travel throughout South-East Michigan to help support EHS initiatives at various locations.
Medical Assistant Occupational Health - 40 Hours - Days
$2,500 Sign-on Bonus
Eligible for Full-Time Benefits
Shift : Days 7 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm. No weekends.
General Summary
Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
Responsibilities
- Aids with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties including completing the Return-to-Work authorization checklist and process for associates returning from a leave of absence.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Fulfills basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
