Warehouse Lead - 2nd shift

POSITION SUMMARY :

• This position leads the daily operations within assigned warehouse department(s), including, but not limited to, Receiving, Shipping, Picking, Packing, Inventory, and Quality Control to ensure accurate and timely processing of all orders with maximum efficiency.
• The Team Lead provides coaching and support to warehouse associates while maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities Determine work volume, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow to ensure maximum cost effectiveness within the department.
• Partner with other leads and supervisors to ensure all shipping deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
• Assign duties and examine work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
• Schedule and oversee job assignments for periodic and / or special inventories.
• Monitor, direct, and, when necessary, perform accurate processing of inbound and outbound orders.
• Ensure associate accountability in accordance with corporate standard operating procedures.
• Develop and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
• Oversee day-to-day departmental operations to maintain productivity and service levels.
• Motivate, train, and mentor team members, encouraging adaptability to business needs.
• Share and develop best practices across shifts and departments.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery while expanding warehouse capabilities.
• Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize order fulfillment and provide operational insights for improvement.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Qualifications Education / Experience High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of related warehouse or distribution experience.
• Skills and Abilities Experience with Manhattan WMS strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and adaptable across multiple departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to foster an environment of high morale, productivity, and accountability.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic data entry.
• Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset.
• Analytical ability to summarize data and identify trends.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment while managing multiple tasks.
• Physical / Visual Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, and lift packages up to 50 lbs.
