Manufacturing Supervisor

- Applicants must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience working in a BHS Corrugator production facility.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production operations in the facility. This includes managing manufacturing scheduling, implementing efficient production methods and procedures, and ensuring smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
The supervisor will be leading the plant team in setting and achieving objectives such as production volumes, quality, safety, inventory, customer satisfaction, and fiscal budgets.
Your responsibilities will include :
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting improvements to the General Manager as necessary.
Adjusting production schedules and priorities when necessary due to equipment failures, operational issues, or last-minute customer demands.
Reviewing and analyzing production reports to identify causes of nonconformity and operating problems.
Collaborating with the General Manager to develop and implement operating methods and procedures to improve product quality and eliminate operating problems.
Fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand the overall business and prevent production delays and impact on customer satisfaction.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, waste reduction measures, and meeting customer commitments.
Working with the Plant Safety Manager to enforce the safety program.
Managing workforce planning to maintain proper staffing levels for productivity activities.
Maintaining a positive working relationship with the union as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Identifying training and development opportunities for Production Supervisors and monitoring their progress.
Collaborating effectively with others to achieve common objectives and resolving conflicts constructively.
Demonstrating adaptability to changing demands and processes.
Holding oneself and others accountable for actions and results.
Communicating effectively through engaging presentations and developing new communication strategies.
Using strong problem-solving skills and supporting information to make optimal decisions in a timely manner.
Applying knowledge to simplify and solve complex issues, identifying root causes and developing solutions.
Background requirements :
High School diploma or G.E.D - Required
Associate degree or higher in Business, Applied Science, or Technical field - Preferred
Experience in the corrugated industry, preferably with BHS machines - Required
5+ years of supervisory experience in the manufacturing industry
Knowledge of machinery and troubleshooting equipment issues
Familiarity with measuring employee performance using different methods
Proven experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to learn and use proprietary software programs for the Corrugated Manufacturing systems
