Correctional Officer II
This is a LATERAL RECRUITMENT for the Correctional II Classification at Napa County. Only those who meet the LATERAL Correction Officer II requirements are eligible to be considered for this recruitment.
Applicants for this LATERAL recruitment will be required to meet the following criteria :
Under California Code of Regulations Title 15, gender is a bona fide occupational qualification for the position of Correctional Officer. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may be used to fill full-time, part-time, limited-term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.
The Napa County Department of Corrections (NCDC) is dedicated to providing professional correctional services to the citizens of Napa County. The Napa County Department of Corrections has jurisdiction over the Napa County Jail facility; it does not operate under the authority of the Napa County Sheriff's Office.
The facility houses both pre-sentenced and sentenced incarcerated persons, and is responsible for the coordination of all programs and services related to the institutional care, treatment and rehabilitation, including :
Hourly : $46.44 (Step 1) - $55.37 (Step 5) Annually : $96,595.20 (Step 1) - $115,169.60 (Step 5) Correctional Officers also receive a 5% Detention Services Premium in addition to the salary listed above.

The County jail is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation. Persons employed in this class must be willing to work odd irregular and / or rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends. Mandated Standards and Training for Corrections program requirements must be completed before permanent status may be granted. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
