Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full time Rad Tech for our Franciscan Ortho Clinic in Burien, WA. Free parking and no weekends or organizationally recognized holidays required.

Job Summary :

Operates radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic imaging films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures.

Essential Duties :

• Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures.
• Instructs patients regarding procedures. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Observes patients for vital signs during examination.
• Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiology equipment; cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiological equipment. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies
• Develops and processes radiological film, if applicable. Examines radiology film and / or digital exams for properties such as density and contracts, definition, magnification and distortion.
• Delivers film to radiologists for reading / interpretation through various computer software systems, if applicable. Prepares films and / or digital copies for FMG Physician / providers or outside provider needs. .
• Participates in training employees, residents and student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested; enhances professional growth through continuing education programs, conferences and workshops.
