Homemakers provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistancecaring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability and / or other inflictions.
Home care mayincludehousecleaning,laundry,mealpreparation,transportation,companionshipandrespite,
Homemakers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, inaccordancewithrelevant Agencypolicies andindustry standards.
ReportingRelationship
Reports to Supervisor.
Responsibilities / Activities :
Teach / performmealplanningandpreparation,routinehousekeepingactivitiessuchasmaking / changingbeds,dusting,vacuuming,washingfloors,cleaningkitchenandbathroom,andlaundry.
Perform / assistwithessentialshopping / errands,whichmayincludehandlingtheclient’smoney,inaccordancewiththecareplanandunder theobservationoftheSupervisor.
Assist with following a written, special diet plan and reinforcement of diet maintenance, which is providedunderthedirection ofa Physicianand asidentified inthe careplan.
Escorttomedicalfacilities,errands,shoppingandoutingsasspecifiedinthecareplan.
Providecompanionship,friendshipandemotionalsupport.
Assistclientswithcommunicationbywritingortypingcorrespondenceforthemorresearchinginformationfor them.
ParticipateontheCareTeambyprovidinginputandmakingsuggestions.
Ensureserviceisdeliveredinaccordancewithallrelevantpolicies,proceduresandpractices.
Monitorsuppliesandresources.
Evaluatetheprogramandmakerecommendationstoit,asindicated.
Followthewrittencareplan.
CarryoutdutiesasassignedbytheSupervisor.
Observetheclient’sfunctioningandreporttoSupervisor.
Completeandmaintainrecordsofdailyactivities,observations,anddirecthoursofservice.
Attendorientation,in-servicetrainingsessionsandstaffmeetings.
Developandmaintainconstructiveandcooperativeworkingrelationshipswithothers.
Makedecisionsandsolveproblems.
