Job description

Security Architect

Provides advanced level skills and knowledge in the design and review of secure networks, applications, systems, infrastructure, environments and security systems, ensuring requirements are in line with corporate information security policies and processes, as well as line of business (including cloud) security standards. Key responsibilities include driving and championing security tool development, consulting software development teams in design and architecture of safe and secure systems, and designing and integrating verification and posture reporting mechanisms.

The role also involves defining security configuration and implementation best practices, prototyping, designing, and implementing security solutions for new and challenging problems, evaluating, selecting, and deploying technical security controls and tools, and conducting security risk assessments, threat modeling, and architecture reviews for critical systems and new initiatives.

Additionally, the position requires collaboration with IT and business units to integrate security into project lifecycle, defining and maintaining security policies, procedures, and technical documentation, monitoring emerging threats and technology trends, and participating in incident response activities.

Mentorship and technical leadership to junior security team members, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal security requirements, are also part of the role.

Qualifications include a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security, or related field, with 7+ years of experience in information security, including architectural design. Strong understanding of security principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements, along with hands-on experience with network, application, infrastructure, and cloud security technologies, are essential.

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or SABSA are strongly preferred, along with excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical technical solutions and experience building automated security solutions are also required.

The role prefers experience with DevSecOps practices and tools, familiarity with secure software development lifecycle methodologies, and experience scaling operational activities via Python, Bash, and other tools.
