As a contract specialist in the Civil Space (CS) contracts department, reporting to a Senior Manager, you will assume a hands-on Contract Specialist role as an individual contributor.

The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

What You'll Do :

  • Provide contract negotiation and administration on a variety of programs encompassing all phases of the contract life cycle (pre-proposal through contract close out).
  • Collaborate with other employees in the department, cross-functionally and with program personnel, establishing effective relationships with key customers.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in reviewing contracts and related documents to assess risk to the company and recommend mitigation approaches and ensure compliance with various federal regulations and policy.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule in accordance with company policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment : This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location.

Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions :

Work is performed in an office environment.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS / BA in a related field plus 10 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, , Master’s Degree or , may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Government and Commercial (domestic and international desirable) contracts experience.
  • A solid working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), NASA FAR Supplement and / or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, government property, formation of proposals, and negotiations.
  • Experience with cost reimbursable, award fee and incentive fee contracts.
  • Experience with Firm Fixed Price contracts.
  • Excellent communications skills, computer fluency, agile and effective negotiation skills with clear oral and written explanations.
  • Ability to work a variety of complex issues at one time.
  • Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to be a leader with strong conflict resolution skills in a changing environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Business related Master's Degree preferred.
  • CPCM certification preferred.
  • Experience with NASA, DOD and major Aerospace primes preferred.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range : $115000 - $158500

Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
