The Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System (SWMHS), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Administrative Assistant (PCN 27771) to join our team. The Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System (SWCMHS) is determined to transform itself into a person-centered / recovery-oriented system of care. This position is vital to this process of transformation. SWCMHS has a large population of Spanish-speaking clients along with significantly psychiatrically impaired clients needing our services which requires a high degree of sensitivity, compassion, and patience. Part of delivering recovery-oriented services includes providing culturally appropriate services.
The vision of the Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System is to provide high quality, compassionate, and culturally competent mental health and substance abuse services to adults with behavioral health disorders who are indigent.

Please note :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience above the routine clerk level in office support or secretarial work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been as a Secretary 2 or its equivalent.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training in the secretarial sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of 15 semester hours equaling one-half (1 / 2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.
