Company Details

The Detroit Pizza Bar is a Modern Trendy Eastery with a full-service restaurant and bar with a rooftop terrace. The focus of Detroit Pizza Bar is of course pizza, offering Vegas and gluten-free options along with a full urban Italian menu.

DPB is a hybrid between fine dining and casual dining restaurants. We seek to disrupt the urban model in two ways first;

by offering more responsive tables and customer service.

Location

Detroit Pizza Bar will be located in the Livl6 neighborhood. The physical address is 7316 West McNichols St, Detroit MI. This will be a 4,5000 square foot commercial building with a rooftop terrace that will service 198 patrons.

Job summary :

  • Pay : $12.00-$15.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Part-time position
  • Accountable to General Manager, Asst. General Manager and Head Bartender.

The Line cook qualifications and skills :

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Follows directions and instructions.
  • Follow all portion sizes and guidance for dishes and recipes.
  • Show up on time and ready for work every day.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in a stressful situation.
  • Treat all coworkers with respect including FOH staff.
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g., in refrigerators)
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Line Cook
  • Knowledge of cooking, techniques, and food in general
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • How to properly use a knife
  • Always be willing to stay focused on the task at hand.
  • Ability multi-task under pressure
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends.
  • Serve Safe certified

Educational Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
  • Familiar with industry best practices
